Meet The Partners
Jim Murray LLM (hons), founder and senior partner
Jim Murray entered the law 1980 and became a Master of Laws (LLM) at Nottingham Law School in 1999.
A former welfare officer and social worker, he established James Murray Solicitors 20 years ago to give the vulnerable members of his local community a different type of lawyer/client relationship. Although he came in the top three in the country in his qualifying examinations, he was not attracted to the millionaire city law firms. Instead, he dedicated himself to the area of his childhood in what began as a legal aid practice and built a trusted reputation with what is now a huge client base.
During his time as a successful criminal lawyer Jim has been involved in a series of high profile court cases. He has been consulted as a legal adviser for ‘East Enders’, has appeared as legal expert on ‘Kilroy’ and is a frequent commentator on legal issues in the local and national media.
He has been a local councilor in the Bootle Constituency for Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council and has been a parliamentary candidate for the Liberal Democrats for over 20 years and standing in for Bootle for two previous General Elections.
Jim says: “I established James Murray Solicitors to fight for the rights of the people of Bootle and Liverpool.
Thirty years on and our ethos has not changed. Our success is down to the dedication and hard work of our fantastic staff who are committed to getting it right for every client, every time.”
